To help you plan your next adventure – no matter how much time you have! Whether it’s a day trip, last minute weekend away or an epic backpacking journey, we want to help you do it!
We love getting off the beaten track, collecting amazing memories of people and places, finding quirky travel stories and sharing them with you on this blog. We understand that most people have full-time jobs, and the luxury of taking months off to go exploring isn’t always a viable option. But we think epic travel can be squeezed into any busy lifestyle and budget. It’s all about the planning…
We hope this blog inspires you to book that ticket, get out there and start exploring the world too!
Who are we?
We’re two intrepid, adventure-loving twenty-somethings with an insatiable wanderlust and love for good gelato (hence the blog name!). By day, we’re London-based freelance travel writers and marketing professionals. By night, we’re usually planning an upcoming adventure and looking for the next travel ‘scoop’.

Get to know Sarah:
About me: I’m a London-based content editor and freelance travel/lifestyle writer, doing everything from reviews and features for various publications to social media campaigns for big brands. Since the beginning of my career, I’ve specialised in travel – including several years working as an editor for a travel website – and I’m known to always have bucket loads of tips and recommendations. And I want to share them with you!
Where’s next on my travel list? Everywhere… (I wish!) First up is a city break to colourful Copenhagen, followed by long-haul trips to Vietnam – and possibly Myanmar – before the end of they year.
Favourite travel moment of the last year: My favourite travel moment of the past year has to be hiking through the lush jungle in Munnar, Kerala, where you can see tea plantations fro miles and miles. The views were out of this world!
My favourite stamp on my passport: This is very hard! I think the honour has to go to Tanzania, where Nikki and I conquered Kilimanjaro and chilled in stunning Zanzibar. It was the one of the most memorable and challenging adventures I’ve ever been on.
My perfect Sunday: Eggs Benedict and the Sunday papers in my favourite cafe, followed by a country walk.
I cannot go on holiday without: My camera. Photography is a big hobby of mine and I am always on the lookout for the perfect shot!

Get to know Nikki:
About me: I’m an Irish/Italian country mouse that’s settled into London life for the last six years and loving it so far! I moved over to London for a MA in Journalism course at Kingston University and was lucky enough to be offered a job as a health and lifestyle editor soon after graduating. Today, my 9-5 job is still in the health world, but TheTwoScoops is where I can really be creative.
Where’s next on my travel list? I’m heading to Phuket and some Thai islands in March with one of my best friends who’s backpacking solo around SE Asia. I’m so excited to see her and have a mini island hop together!
Favourite travel moment of the last year: Getting to play with some elephants in Laos; they were so unbelievably cute and real gentle giants!
My favourite stamp on my passport: I think it has to be from when Sarah and I went to Tanzania. What started as a trip to climb Kilimanjaro turned into an epic holiday with exhilarating safari and idyllic beach time in Zanzibar. Really was a surreal holiday!
My perfect Sunday: Either out walking in the countryside with my dog, followed by a good pub roast dinner with friends. Or sitting in a window seat of my favourite cafe with a seaming cup of coffee and writing all day.
I cannot go on holiday without: My kindle! I find it hard to make time to read when I’m working so I stock pile all my books for my holidays.
